Mommy and daddy gave Lena Grace a bath and I got to help. She was really good. She didn't cry at all. Mommy did most of the work and daddy took pictures. I stood on a chair next to mommy and tried to help. I also kept trying to kiss Lena Grace.
Lena Grace really seemed to like it when Mommy squeezed water on her.
And the best part of the bath was when Mommy wrapped up Lena Grace in her special towel.

Showers and Flowers
The weather outside is frightful -- it has been raining here, A LOT. A whole lot. But today it stopped just long enough for me to go outside with daddy and ride around in my wagon. The rain has helped early flowers to bloom and Daddy decided to take a spring picture of me in front of the flowers. I guess lots of showers means pretty flowers!

Lena Grace is One Week Old
Today was a very big day for two reasons:
First, daddy took me to a baseball game today. It was cold and a bit rainy out, but daddy bundled me up and took me to a Springfield Cardinals exhibition game against the St. Louis Cardinals. And one of the St. Louis Cardinals players tried to throw a ball to my daddy when he was holding me, but a mean man jumped in front of my daddy and stole the baseball. But we had a lot of fun. We saw lots of people and I shouted a lot, just not always at the right times.
Second, and even more importantly, my baby sister Lena Grace is one week old today. I am learning a lot about little sisters. It seems like all they do is sleep and eat.
But when she is awake, she is beautiful (she is pretty when she is sleeping too!)

I Love Lena Grace
I can't believe it. I can't believe that I have a little sister. I love her so much. When I get up in the morning, the first thing I want to do is go into mommy and daddy's room and look at her in the cradle. She looks so pretty when she is sleeping. Daddy says that I used to be that little, but I don't believe him. She's tiny. She looks smaller than Olivia (our 4 lb dog).
When I went to the hospital with Doll and Granddad on the morning that Lena Grace was born, I wore a "Big Brother" shirt. That's cause I'm a Big Brother now. While Doll was holding Lena Grace, she stuck her tongue out at me. So, of course, I stuck my tongue out at her too...
Hello, it's Graham Henry. Are you calling for Lena Grace? She can't talk right now. She's sleeping. Goodbye.
I like to touch Lena Grace. She is so soft. But I am still learning to be gentle. It will take time, but one day I will learn.

Opening Day!
Daddy says that today was opening day in major league baseball, whatever that is. Daddy said that two teams played the first real baseball game of the year early this morning -- the Red Socks and the A-team, and that they played the game on the other side of the world -- in Toe-K-O. He said a lot of people were mad about that.
Anyway, in honor of opening day, and in honor of spring training, daddy decided to post a few pictures of me in my baseball outfit. For my first birthday last August, my MiMi and Papa gave me an Orioles windsuit and baseball that they got from an Orioles game (a player hit it into the stands). MiMi and Papa live in Baltimore. Daddy took me to the park on Monday while mommy was taking care of Lena Grace, and I wore my Orioles outfit. I rode the slides, climbed all over the jungle gym, and played with the steering wheel. I even tried to throw the ball, but I don't really know how to throw yet.
On our way home from the park, we ran into my neighbor, Ms. Kate, and her three dogs, Bearl, Bear and Buddy. Bearl decided he wanted to lick me on the face, and I tried to pet him. Daddy took a picture of me and Bearl.

Lena Grace Satterwhite
I promised that Daddy would show you a few more pictures of my beautiful little sister -- Lena Grace Satterwhite -- and here she is. This picture is right after she was born. She looks slimy... but it is a pretty slimy.
Doesn't daddy look proud. And my baby sister just looks hungry.
Mommy has already started with the hair bows for Lena Grace.... isn't she just the cutest little baby you have ever seen? Lil sis is not wearing a bow in this picture. Instead, she is wearing a knit cap...
Here is Lena Grace in her going home outfit and getting a kiss from mommy!

Pictures and a Name...Lena Grace
Happy Easter everyone. Yesterday, I told you that I have a new sister. Today, I got to see her again. After staying with Doll and Granddad again last night, I got to go up to the hospital with them and with Nanny, Great-Granddad, Bird, Great-Uncle Phil and Great Aunt Connie, Cousin Aaron, Aunt T, John, and Cousin Nathan.
When we got to the hospital, I found out that my sister now has a name. It is Lena Grace Satterwhite. And daddy took lots of pictures. Here are a couple of his pictures, with promise of more to come later.

She's Here! It's Baby Girl Cash!
My baby sister is here. She came today. The Easter Bunny must have brought her. Mommy and daddy left me with Doll this morning and went to the Hospital. Then Doll took me to the hospital and met my little sister. Daddy said she was born at 12:42 in the afternoon today. She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces. She was twenty inches long. She has a head full of dark hair. I think she is beautiful.
Daddy promises to post some pictures of my little sister tomorrow. She doesn't have a name yet, but right now everyone calls her "Baby Girl Cash." Happy Easter everyone.

I Did It!
I did it! I did it! I walked on my own today! Everyone has been trying to get me to walk on my own for several months, but they needed to just wait. I did it on my own time. Today, daddy put me in my coat to take me to the park after he got home for work. After he put my coat on, I was standing on my own and he was a couple of feet away from me. He called me and motioned for me to come to him. So I tried. I stepped out with my right foot and I tried to walk. I only took one step, and then I fell, but I did it!
Then, after we got back from the park, we went over to see the three doggies at our neighbors -- Al and Kate's house. The doggies are named Bearl, Bear, and Buddy. They are my favorites. So, daddy put me on the ground, standing in front of the fence and looking at the doggies. Then he called me, and I started walking! I took three steps to him. Then we did it again and again. Ms. Kate was outside and daddy told her I was taking my first steps. She was so excited.
Then we went inside and daddy asked me to walk some more. I would take two steps and fall into daddy's arms. I am good at this walking thing! But then I decided that I was tired and I started scooting again. I guess I have to earn my nickname -- Scooter!
When mommy got home, daddy told her what happened. She was so excited. I can't wait to show her how I can walk tomorrow.

My Tricycle and Me
On Saturday night, daddy put together my favorite new toy. My kettler tricycle. It is so much fun. I can climb on and hold onto the handlbars, but I can't use the pedals yet. It is a lot of fun when daddy pushes me down the hall. I haven't ridden it outside yet, but I bet it will be fun!
And here is a picture of me on the tricycle... And I'm sooooooo happy!

Easter Cookies With Doll
Today was a fun day. It is one week until Easter. Daddy says that Easter is a very important day -- because that is the most important day for churches. I guess it must be special, cause everybody has been talking about it for weeks. They talk about it every day at school (parent's day out) and we had an easter egg hunt last week. I found 5 eggs! And today, Doll decided that we would make Easter sugar cookies. And she and mommy let me help decorate. I put coconut on top of the icing....
And of course I put some coconut in my mouth....
Doll and mommy both helped me to know what I was supposed to do....
And then we made some pink icing ... and Doll showed me how to spread the icing on a cookie....
And then I spread some icing on the cookie all by myself (well, I wasn't really by myself, but almost....)
Thank you for looking at pictures of my cookie decorating adventure. I hope you have a very fun Easter week and remember the reason that we celebrate Easter.

My Mommy's Hat
Last week, I showed you a few pictures of me in my daddy's shoes. Today, I found my mommy's hat. It was so much fun to wear her hat. I made lots of funny faces and it made me laugh a lot.
I found the mirror and then I turned the hat around backwards.
Do you have a favorite hat? If you do, please tell me a story about it.....

Snow Day!
Yesterday was a snow day in Springfield. 8 inches in my backyard. Hip hip hooray! So much fun. I watched the doggies (or as I call them, the woof-woofs) in the neighbors' yard play in the snow. I also watched daddy dig out the driveway so he could go to work.
Later, after my nap, Doll came over and we went outside in the wagon. She took me up and down the street so I could see all the snow. And we were so lucky. It warmed up and the streets started to thaw. When daddy came home in the afternoon, he took me and Olivia out in the wagon and I ddin't even have to wear any mittens.
Isn't daddy's outfit silly? I heard mommy tell him that if he didn't change out of his suit or roll up his pants, he would have to put them in the dry-something. I guess daddy didn't want to do that with his pants.
