A Trip to Walnut Street Barber Shop

Yesterday was a big day. Yesterday morning, daddy took me to breakfast at Gailey's Breakfast Cafe on Walnut Street in Dowtown, Springfield. We had breakfast with Granddad and Doll. It was so much fun. I had "the Little Downtowner," with eggs (scrambled) and two sausage patties. It also had hash browns. So yummy. I ate both of the (very big) sausage patties.

After eating breakfast, daddy took me across the street to the Walnut Street Barber shop for my first haircut. Yes, my first haircut ever. Mommy gave daddy specific instructions -- the barber could cut the back and the sides, but he COULD NOT cut the top or the front. Anyway, I was a little nervous but I didn't cry. Granddad and Doll came to the barber shop to watch. And the paparazzi were out in full force -- just like Britney!

I wasn't too excited when the barber started. Doll had to help me not get my hands in the barber's way, while daddy and Granddad took lots of pictures.

My daddy got a haircut while we were at the barber shop too. Daddy likes to say that he got "his ears lowered" instead of a haircut.

The best part of my first hair cut was that the barber gave me a sucker before he started my hair. I heard daddy telling Doll that he gave me the sucker so I would stay still. If the trick to getting candy is to stay still, I might stay still more often. I also heard daddy tell the barber that mommy wasn't going to be very happy about the sucker. But the barber didn't seem to care. Anyway, back to that sucker -- it was a grape dum-dum and it was very yummy!
For a little bit of time, my daddy was getting a haircut at the same time as me. My daddy really likes this picture.

The barber's name was Mr. Herschel. He was really nice and my daddy called him "patient." He gave me a certificate that said that I had graduated from "babyhood" with my first haircut. He doesn't know it, but I graduated from babyhood when I started this new blog. He also gave my daddy a ziploc bag with some locks of my hair in it for my baby book.
Don't I look happy with my sucker, and with Doll and Mr. Herschel?

Here is a picture of Mr. Herschel holding me. He asked for a copy of this picture for his drawer full of baby pictures. There were two other big boys in the barber shop waiting for a haircut and their mommy said that Mr. Herschel did their first haircuts.

Here is a picture of me, Granddad, and daddy, after my haircut and daddy's haircut.
I can't wait until my next haircut, because I want another sucker.

Ariana Marie Gray

In the last couple of days, you met my new cousin Nathan. He is my Aunt T's little baby and he was born last week. I also have another new cousin -- cousin Ariana Marie Gray. My Aunt Jessica and Uncle Rhye in Louisiana -- you've met them before -- had a baby girl in December. She is so pretty. Today, Aunt Jessica sent out some of cousin Ariana's first professional photos. Isn't she pretty....

I can't wait to meet her. She's tiny. Just like baby Nathan.

Crab Cakes for Everyone (but me)

Last week, daddy went out of town. He had to go to law camp. I don't know what that means, law camp, but it doesn't sound like too much fun.

If you want to hear a funny story, you should ask him about his trip to law camp -- he said something about losing his ID, his suitcase falling apart in the airport, and missing the exit on the way to law camp. Only my daddy.

Anyway, on Thursday, my mommy took me to Kansas City -- we visited with Aunt T and my new cousin Nathan, and then we flew to Baltimore to see Papa, MiMi, and G.G. G.G. was sick so she didn't get to hold me, but it was fun to see her. My mommy and daddy took me to IKEA and we went to my Papa's church. He showed me to all the people and I got to stand at the back of the church and shake everyone's hands.

I
In the airport on the way home, I found these neat pillars that I could crawl between. Daddy thought they would make funny pictures

When we flew back to Kansas City, we went to see cousin Nathan and Aunt T again. He is six days old. I grabbed his blanket. He is really cute. Mommy says when I get big I can hold him.

A Very Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your Christmas was as fun as my family's Christmas. We did lots of neat stuff. Daddy and Mommy took me to see Santa Claus for the first time. He was really scary looking and I didn't like him very much. But at least I had on a cool hat. I tried to pull on his beard, but he wouldn't let me.

Daddy looks much happier than me.

Mommy dressed me up in some really cool Christmas clothes and we took pictures for the Christmas card. Here are a few of my daddy's favorite pictures from that day.

I will write more soon about my family's Christmas. Until then, Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!!!!

RedPin x 2

I promised you more from RedPin. This picture is of what daddy called "the bah" -- at least that's what I heard. Daddy said that those signs say that I can't go to the bah until I am 21.
Here is a picture of me and daddy and Mr. Shawn and Declan. Don't I look happy when daddy is holding me?
Declan is holding one of the red pins from RedPin. It made a lot of noise when he knocked it over.
Here we are with mommy and Ms. G. It is very dangerous to leave me and Big D alone. You never know what we might do. A few seconds after this picture, we were both crawling across the table.
Declan liked the red bowling balls and I liked the green ones.
I scooted all over the place at RedPin. I can really scoot fast on smooth floors. I tried to scoot down one lane, but daddy wouldn't let me.
Here you go daddy. Here is the red ball. Just a second... I can pick it up. I know I can...

The Great RedPin

A couple of weeks ago, my mommy and daddy and I drove down to Oklahoma for the grand opening weeked for Ms. G and Mr. Shawn's new bowling restaurant -- RedPin Bowling Lounge. We had so much fun. I got to play with Declan ("Big D"). Big D is my really cool friend -- he can walk and say some words and he can even make animal sounds. He is so much fun.

My mommy and daddy and Mr. Shawn and Ms. G took me and Declan to RedPin for lunch on Saturday. It was very yummy. Declan and I had kiddy macaroni (Kraft Mac & Cheese type) and a yummy fancy hotdog (Mr. Shawn said something about Angus, but I don't know what that means). The picture below is of RedPin's door. RedPin is in Bricktown in Oklahoma City and it is right next to the canal. Boats go by and drop people off at the front door. Really cool. I wish I was like Declan and could live in a place with a RedPin.
This is the inside of RedPin. There are bowling lanes and daddy said you throw a ball at pins to knock it down. Mommy said that you don't really throw the ball -- you roll it, but that daddy sometimes throws it and gets in trouble.
I will post more pictures of our RedPin adventure later. Only 12 more days til Christmas.... I can't wait!
