Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler

Or as they say in English, "Let the good times roll...." We had lots of good times during our visit with Jack, Luke, Emilie, Ms. Erin, and Mr. Kyle in New Orleans. Jack and Emilie and Luke are so much fun to play with.
W ewent on an outing to Cafe Du Monde, and of course I told everyone where to go.... and how to get there....
Those beignets taste so good that I had to try to lick the powdered sugar off of my chin.
Ms. Emilie likes milk with her beignets.
Group picture, Group picture. Mommy has a lap full, with her Goddaughter, Ms. Emilie and me and in her lap. Jack is taking a picture of Auntie Rachel while she takes a picture of all of us.
I can't wait until my next New Orleans visit.

Sweater Vest Boys

On Sunday, Daddy and I both dressed up for church. We both wore our sweater vests. Mine was green and Daddy's was khaki. But I know I am a lot cuter in my sweater vest than Daddy is.
Of course, the other thing that I had going for me was that I got to wear shorts with my sweater vest. And given that it was much warmer on Sunday than was expected, Daddy was very, very jealous...

Party All the Time

A couple of weeks ago, Mommy, Daddy, Lena and I went to my friend Addie's birthday party. She is two. The party was at a farm just outside of Springfield. Addie turned two. We had lots and lots of fun at her party. There were lots of kids there and most of them were bigger and older than me. Most of them could run and jump and do all kinds of cool things. I tried to play with the bigger kids and some of them played with me too.

Here is a picture of all of the kids who were at the party. Addie is the little girl on the front row with the cool striped leggings. Here is another picture of Addie. Doesn't she have a cool hat?
The farm had lots of real animals, like pigs and miniature horses and goats. They even brought a goat into the party room and let us all pet it. I pet it two different times. The farm also had a fake cow with an udder that you can pretend like you are milking. The udder is full of water. I tried and tried to make milk come out, but the cow wouldn't make any milk....

The best part of the party was that I got to have cake and ice cream. Mommy doesn't like for me to have sweets at home, so this was a special treat. I fed myself and I didn't even make a big mess. But I was the last one at the table eating. I wouldn't let Daddy take my plate away.
They had this really cool thing where you could put your head in a circle and you would look like a cow or a pig or a horse. I liked the pig picture. Don't I make a cute pig?
The farm had some fun tractors. Daddy said I needed to be in a JD picture. I wasn't sure what that meant, but this is the picture that he took. I thought the tractor was really neat, but I couldn't reach the driving wheel.

Bayou Babies

We took some pictures with PaPa and Mimi -- of all three grandchildren. Lena Grace isn't the only one who wears hairbows. Ariana was wearing a pretty blue hairbow. I got to sit between Mimi and PaPa. I love them a lot.

PaPa likes holding Lena Grace. And she likes it when he holds her. She doesn't cry as much. Doesn't she look happy?
I like hanging out with PaPa. He lets me play with his phone. But he said something about me registering him for internet service. I don't know -- I just push the buttons...
Here is a picture of Aunt Jessica's family -- Uncle Rhye, Aunt Jessica, and Ariana Marie.
Mimi likes holding Lena Grace too. Doesn't Lena Grace look happy?

Meeting Ariana Down on the Bayou

Last week was the biggest adventure yet. Mommy, Auntie Rachel, Lena and I went to New Orleans to visit Jack, Emilie, Luke, Mr. Kyle and Ms. Erin. I will tell you more about that visit later. Then on Friday, Daddy flew down and picked us up in a big black SUV. We drove to Baton Rouge for Uncle Rhye's graduation from LSU.

Our visit to Baton Rouge was full of firsts. It was the first time any of us had met cousin Ariana, Uncle Rhye and Aunt Jessica's little girl. Cousin Ariana is five months old and she jumps up and down a whole lot. She is really cute. She doesn't have much hair, but she smiles a lot.

In addition to meeting Ariana, this was the first time that Mimi got to see and hold Lena in person. Here is a picture of the first time Mimi held Lena.

Daddy took lots of pictures and so did Auntie Rachel. Daddy really likes this picture of Ariana and Auntie Rachel.

Mother's Day Fun

On Mother's Day, we got all dressed up and went on an adventure to Harrison, Arkansas to see Nanny, Bird and most of Mommy's family. I wore a blue outfit that Nanny gave me a long time ago and I am just getting big enough to wear. Lena wore her white dress and bonnet. We took some pictures before we went to Harrison. This is Daddy's favorite.

When we got to Harrison, Granddad and I played some in Bird's yard. He makes me laugh. We are both wearing our blue shirts with white sweaters. It wasn't intentional. I promise.

Nanny got a lot of good "holding time" with Lena. When she didn't want to stop crying during lunch, Nanny asked us to let her hold her. Whatever Nanny did, it was magic. Lena looked so happy, I had to go over and see what was going on. And, of course, I am carrying my Night-Night (what I call my blankie).

Of course, Mother's Day pictures wouldn't be complete without a picture of Doll. Doll was wearing pink. Perfect.

Here is a group picture of the mothers at Mother's Day. And me and Lena, of course.

This is the only picture Mommy would let Daddy take of her on Mother's Day. Otherwise, she would be the focus of this post. But I just want to say, and I think I can speak for my sister too, we have the best Mommy in the whole wide world and I love her more than anything. I hope she had a happy Mother's Day.

Pretty Little Lady

Isn't Lena the prettiest little girl you have ever seen? For Mother's Day, Lena wore her Sunday white dress and bonnet, with pink ballet slippers and ribbons. She is soooooo pretty. I am going to protect her for life.......

Lena's Kentucky Derby Hat

For those of you who liked Lena Grace's hair bows, I think you will really, really like the pictures I am going to show you today. Lena Grace has a fun new hat. Daddy calls it her "Kentucky Derby Hat." It has a really big flower on it and it is sooooo funny looking. But Mommy picked it for Lena, so it must be pretty....

Weekend Adventures

On Friday afternoon, Daddy and I ran in the law day run at Phelps Grove Park near our house. I call it running because that is what Daddy was trying to do, but he is not very fast. I think he would even admit it. And if you look real closely at the picture below, you will see that he is not really good at putting on his running number either. Of course Mommy fixed that before the race.
Anyway, about that race. Daddy did his best. He did run the whole time, but he ran pretty slow. As you can see from this picture, there is only one person behind him. And he is pushing two kids, not one.
Here is Daddy pushing me at the end of the race. The guy behind Daddy who was pushing the two kids has already passed him. Daddy said that he just wanted to teach me early that sometimes good people come in last place. I think he just needs to practice running.....
On Saturday, Mommy, Daddy, Lena and I went to the Artsfest. It was SO MUCH FUN because I got to ride in a backpack on Daddy's back. I saw lots of woof-woofs and funny people. I can't wait to ride in the backpack again.
I hope you had a good weekend too!

More

Guest author: Lena Grace Satterwhite

"More." That is my big brother Graham's favorite word these days. Especially when he is eating. And boy can Graham eat. And he is messy too.

Daddy asked me to write about what it is like when Graham eats. I think he wanted me to tell the story because I have never eaten solid food. But Graham seems to like it. So much that he usually wipes it all over his face and in his hair.

Two of Graham's recent meals were particularly fun.

On Saturday night, he had sweet potatoes and baby peas, which he managed to get all over his face and he put quite a few sweet potatoes in his hair. Daddy said he was using the special sweet potato "moose." After finishing the sweet potatoes and baby peas, Mommy told Daddy he could give Graham Henry some yogurt. After trying to use his spoon for a few minutes, Graham stuck his whole hand into the bowl and started eating the yogurt with his hand. Here is what Graham looked like when he was done.

A handful of yogurt on top of sweet potatoes and peas -- and don't forget the sweet potato "moose."
A good shot of Graham's sweet potato hair treatment.

On Friday night, Graham got a lot of eating practice. He had to because he was tired after "running" 3 miles with daddy. He started with a bowl of chili and 1/2 of a sweet potato. He ate another half of a sweet potato and then he asked for "more." He is very cute when he asks for more because it sounds like "moh." So Daddy gave him some berries (raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries) in a cup. He ate all of the berries and asked for "more" again. Then Auntie Rachel gave him a graham cracker -- yes, Graham ate a graham cracker. When he was done, he asked for "more" one more time. But Mommy said no "more."

Auntie Rachel took a few pictures of his face when it was covered in berry juice.

Asking for "more."

She's So Long and So Pretty....

This blog entry is all about my baby sister, Lena Grace. She is six weeks old today. And I want everyone to know what I know -- that she is very pretty and very, very long. She has long fingers and toes, and I would say that she is tall, but she doesn't every stand up so I don't really know. But Daddy and Mommy both say that she has very long fingers and toes, and Daddy says that she looks "long." So here is a picture of her in her bouncy seat, showing off how long she is.

As the title of this entry says, not only is Lena Grace "long," she is also very pretty. Daddy took these pictures when she was sleeping on Mommy and Daddy's bed. Don't you think she looks pretty in her nightgown/sleepsack?
